(Registration Deadline 04/15/2015)

About the Symposium:

It is critically important that professionals working with victims of sexual assault understand the impact that trauma has on the brain. Research has shown us that trauma affects a victim’s capacity to communicate, to process information and to remember. The trauma can create psychological, behavioral and physical health challenges that can last a lifetime.

The symposium will provide practical information to empower all professionals working with sexual assault victims to better understand the complexities caused by trauma and how utilizing physical, psychological and sensory techniques can assist in providing care, interviewing, investigations, and prosecution of these crimes.
